Mable Lee update

Thanks to community donations and the support of other generous dancers all around the world, Mable Lee was able to get emergency treatment in Seoul, South Korea following her accident in June. She was able to be escorted safely and comfortably back home to New York, where she received further treatment. By soliciting and channeling your donations, the Frankie Manning Foundation was honored to play an important role in a quick response to the unfortunate situation. Mable Lee was recently featured in our May 22 show at the Apollo Theatre celebrating lindy hopper Frankie Manning’s 100th birthday and we consider her part of our family.

Right now, the emergency interventions seem to be over and Mable is on the long path to recovery. She is recovering in a rehabilitation facility. Mabel and her family will now be receiving assistance from Ali Bradley and Tapology for the funding and future direction of her care.

From here on, please direct your donations and your questions to Ali Bradley at Tapology. Let her know about your interest and support so she can get back to you with updates about Mable’s progress. The Frankie Manning Foundation was very happy to be able to help in the short term, and we are now pleased that Tapology will to be involved with Mable Lee’s ongoing needs.
